Our April meeting was a wonderfully relaxed Sip & Paint evening, thanks to the fabulous Carrie Austin. None of us needed any experience – which was lucky, because some of us hadn’t picked up a paintbrush since primary school. But that was all part of the fun.

Carrie guided us through each step with a simple template, lots of encouragement, and her lovely calm energy. Before long, we were all creating our own little masterpieces… or at least something proudly fridge‑worthy. It was all about having a go, enjoying ourselves, and not worrying about perfection.

As well as being a talented photographer (you may know her from Carrie Austin Photography), Carrie is also the Director of Wired Differently Sensory Seekers CIC and has recently published her book 100 Things I Wish I Knew About ADHD and Autism When I Was a Teenager. A woman of many talents, and we were lucky to have her.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along – the chatter was flowing, the paint was flying (in a controlled manner), and the whole evening had that warm, friendly WI magic.
