May 2026 - Laughing Yoga

Our WI meeting on Thursday 21st May was an absolute treat, thanks to a wonderfully uplifting Laughter Yoga session led by the brilliant Augustina from Joy Rejuvenates CIC. From the moment we began, the room was filled with smiles, giggles, and that warm, contagious energy that only shared laughter can bring.

Laughter Yoga is all about boosting wellbeing through playful exercises, gentle movement, and simple breathing techniques — and it turns out you really don’t need a reason to laugh. Augustina encouraged us to join in at our own pace, let go of self‑consciousness, and simply enjoy the moment. Before long, the whole group was laughing freely, and the atmosphere was light, friendly, and full of positivity. (If you’d like to learn more about her wonderful work, you can visit joyrejuvenates.com.)

After all the fun and plenty of happy faces, we settled down to discuss this year’s WI resolutions. Members shared thoughtful views on both Homelessness and Accessible Toilets, two important issues that sparked meaningful conversation. Once everyone had their say, we cast our votes — a lovely reminder of how the WI gives us a collective voice on matters that truly affect our communities.

It was a wonderfully balanced evening: uplifting, engaging, and full of that warm WI spirit. A huge thank you to Augustina for such a joyful session, and to everyone who came along and made the night so special.

Here’s to more meetings that leave us smiling.
