How to become a member

Each WI Member pays a subscription fee in exchange for their membership. Subscriptions rates are set by the NFWI Board of Trustees in prior consultation with the National Council.

The annual subscription starting April 2025 is £51.00.

Where does my subscription go?

£25.50 of the subscription is kept by your WI
£12.05 goes to the Nottinghamshire federation
£13.85 goes to the National Federation of Women's Institutes

What do I get for my membership?

Every WI holds at least 11 meetings each year. As a member, you can contribute ideas to the annual programme of speakers, activities and events. The Mansfield Marians do not have a meeting in August, instead we organise a social outing.

You are also kept up to date with federation and national level opportunities through regular mailings and newsletters.

In addition, you receive eight copies a year of the WI membership magazine, WI Life, and have access to exclusive information and resources on My WI.

Do new members get pro-rata rates?

New members joining the WI from April 2024 for the first time, or who have not been members of any WI in the past year, will pay a pro-rata subscription depending on the quarter in which they join:

Date of joining 2024-2025

1 April – 30 June £51.00

1 July – 30 September £38.25

1 October – 31 December £25.50

1 January – 31 March £12.75
